There are many different traditions and techniques in Meditation and Mindfulness, e.g. Vipassana, Christian meditation, Buddhist meditation, MBSR, Mindfulness meditation. This often causes confusion and the question of religious affiliation. However, the various techniques focus in their essence on the same purpose.
The present article therefore focuses on a brief presentation of the most important techniques in Meditation and Mindfulness (only in German available at the moment).
The word “meditation” comes from the Latin word “meditari”, which means contemplation or reflection.
However, meditation is more about consciously detaching oneself from one’s own thoughts. It is a mental exercise with which a state of inner peace and serenity is to be practiced through mindfulness, concentration and observation (only in German available at the moment).
